We are currently looking for:

Treasury/ Accounting

Job Summary:
We are looking for an ambitious Intern as a Treasury/Accounting Analyst to provide support to the treasury department by managing daily tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. Preparing daily cash reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting are a large part of the day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles; able to work comfortably with numbers and has an attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit daily bank reconciliation reports
• Assist with entering accounts payable invoices to ERP system and perform reconciliations
• Update custodial data in database to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects

Skills:

• Excellent organizing abilities
• Great attention to detail
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. GP)
• Current Student or recent Graduate – BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field

Legal

Job Summary:
The Paralegal will assist VP – Legal by assigning accounts to outside counsel, monitoring and reporting on the status and strategizing and managing the process to maximize recoveries.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare packages for placement with outside counsel.
• Manage outside attorney’s progress and strategy for maximizing recoveries.
• Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources.
• Provide reporting for status on accounts.
• Contact customers for workouts and settlements.
• Respond to subpoenas.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

Corporate Development (FILLED)

Responsibilities:
• Support of Corporate Development Analysts in preparation of monthly servicer reports for NMEF’s debt facilities
• Support for North Mill’s portfolio of strategic investments, including:
• Supporting the VP of Corporate Development in evaluation of prospective acquisitions, including financial modeling and preparation of investment memos
• Working with portfolio companies to develop strategic and financial plans
• Requisite analytics to drive decision making of NMEF management
• Support production and analysis of monthly KPI’s
• Support CorpDev team in production of quarterly presentation materials for NMEF’s board of directors
• Provide analytical support for:
• NMEF’s capital raising activities, including efforts on behalf of its portfolio companies
• NMEF’s strategic plan, including budgeting and company presentations to partners and third-parties
• Analysis of lease/loan performance and company financial metrics, including presentation of results to senior management
• Managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Required skills/qualifications:
• In-progress degree from an accredited school. While a degree in business/finance or a related field is not required, applicant must have an understanding of financial concepts and be able to perform basic financial analysis
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and deliver results
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Track record of strong time management and ability to multi-task

Cloud Infrastructure and Security Summer Intern (FILLED)

Opportunity Summary
Gain hands-on experience administering Azure cloud infrastructure, services, and security while working directly in NMEF’s cloud environment.

Daily Responsibilities
Work side-by-side with your mentor – an experienced NMEF Systems Administrator – to:

  • Manage user accounts including onboarding new hires, setting security access levels, configuring application access, and deprovisioning departing employees.
  • Provision resources and services within the cloud environment as needed.
  • Standardize and configure domain policies and resource-level settings according to security best practices.
  • Complete various projects to upgrade, patch, migrate, and/or inventory existing resources and services.

Final Presentation
At the culmination of the internship, present a project summary to senior NMEF management based on a completed project that you and your mentor select. Include additional observations and recommendations around opportunities to improve security, efficiency, resilience, or capture cost savings. Work with your mentor to create, refine, and rehearse the presentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current student at an accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing a four-year degree in a computing major.
  • Cloud, Networking, and System Administration related coursework.
